Screening of Documentary “Mujeres Fuertes” (Strong Women) and Q&A with Film Producer and Empowerment Self-Defense Instructor, Toby Israel.

Following the film, participants will engage in a Q&A conversation and (if time) self-defense demo with producer and facilitator Toby Israel.

Toby Israel is an author, editor, consultant, and empowerment self-defense instructor currently rooted in Costa Rica. She holds a BA in Anthropology from Middlebury College and an MA in Peace and Media Studies from the University for Peace. Toby is the founder of Mujeres Fuertes Autodefensa (Women Empowered Self-Defense), a holistic self-defense project offering empowerment and self-defense education around Costa Rica and Central America.
